Science of Sailing STEM Exhibit
The Copeland Maritime Museum needed its reception room transformed into a STEM learning environment that could serve conventions and educational programs. Over ~6 months, I worked with the ship's captain and foundation experts to translate complex science into clear, engaging graphics, laying the groundwork for a STEM program that continues today.

The Challenge
Nonprofit constraints; director had a precise vision.
Must be accessible to a broad age/ability range (not just kids).
No budget for physical interactives, graphics only (PSA wall vinyl).
6 months of content gathering; ~3 months design/translation.
The Approach
Centralized a consistent room "brand" (type, Pantone set, consistent headers) across subsections to create continuity and reduce visual clutter, while simplifying scientific narratives into progressive, wall-based learning paths. Worked with the experts to translate the science and history into graphs, charts, and illustrations, simplify them into beginner-friendly graphics, used consistent line weights and illustration styles to keep it cohesive. All additional "Fun facts" were included in 3-D "buttons" applied on top of the wall graphic, to reduce overall clutter and create individual points of interest throughout the educational briefing.
Process
Stakeholder interviews and needs assessment
Educational content research and curriculum alignment
Interactive exhibit conceptualization
Design system creation for consistent branding
Installation planning and execution
Visual Showcase
